The red fire ant is originally from South America. They live in colonies ranging

venom inside the skin that makes the location itch and even burn. Many people

a year in which fire ant stings result in a hospital visits and even occasionally, and
unfortunately, in death.

When fire ants attack they do so in an organized manner, oftentimes actually
stinging in unison. This can result in hundreds of stings causing swelling and
inflamed tissue. The most common reasons for fire ant attacks is because an
animal or person unknowingly stepped on their ant hill causing the ants to quickly
become enraged and cover the legs and feet of the unfortunate perpetrator. This
can be very serious when it is a baby or small child who does not know how to
react to the stings.
