We will successfully exterminate both silverfish and firebrats that are both in and outside of your home. |
Silverfish and firebrats are very interesting insects. They area able to digest very basic proteins and a variety of carbohydrates and starches and as a result they can eat many items in your home such as glue, book bindings, wallpaper paste, paper, cotton, linen, special types of dust, dead insects and leather. As you can see from this list, which is not even close to being extensive, firebrats and silverfish can live off of basically anything in your home. These insects tend to stay dormant during the day and are most active at night. This is why you will usually only see them in the day time when you move some item (like a cupboard) which they are hiding underneath. They prefer to live in dark and damp locations, which is why in residential property we see them mostly in bathrooms, kitchens and basements. Firebrats are different in that they prefer to live near areas of high heat, like furnaces. These insects eggs hatch quickly, usually within 3-6 weeks and a typical female will lay over 100 eggs in her relatively short lifetime. In spite of this number of eggs laid, silverfish and firebrat populations in home tend to increase slowly so if you think that you have a problem then you probably have had the insects in you home for quite a while. We will exterminate these insects using an Integrated Pest Management system. We will do this by analyzing the environment of the firebrats and silverfish, and analyzing their food source. After those concerns have been dealt with we will follow the chemical pesticide plan outlined on our services page. With the proper actions your home will soon be firebrat and silverfish free. |
